PARTRIDGE HUNTING WITH A CLAIM
In the last stage of the "general" the cuquilleros visit Santa Marta to test their birds. This selective hunting modality dates back to the 6th century B.C. and appears in Aesop's fable "The birdcatcher and the partridge" and Aristotle also makes reference to it in his work "Investigation on animals" , so it has been part of our hunting culture since ancient times.
Thisis undoubtedly one of the most respectful with the environment, and the hunters who have been preparing their bucks since they were pellets and throughout the year until they go to the field, practice it with a special devotion and fondness, which is the common note of all the fans of this precious modality.
This form of hunting, being totally selective, is undoubtedly one of the most ethical and requires strict observation of the canons and rules that must govern the hunt at all times, which means that the final outcome, culminating in the shooting of the brave male that enters the hunt, is probably the least important part of the whole set, in which the "cuckoo" that is able to attract them to the place, displaying a whole show of songs and calls, takes on all the importance.
