OUR HISTORY
The Dehesa de Santa Marta, located between the towns of La Roda, Munera and Villarrobledo, is an emblematic estate in the province of Albacete, which has been in the hands of the Torres family since time immemorial.
The parents and grandparents of the current owners, promoted the modernization of the field and the current configuration of the farm, whose work was brilliantly and faithfully continued by the next generation of children. This modernization, caused that, in the year 1971, its owners constituted the company Agropecuaria Marteña SA, thus founding a completely family business, whose partners are closely linked by strong ties of kinship, and firm principles and values transmitted from generation to generation, being therefore closely linked by traditions and customs deeply rooted in the land of La Mancha.
Currently, the third generation of grandchildren is fully committed and dedicated to the professional management and direction of the family business, for which they have the invaluable support of a team of excellent employees and collaborators, who are fully identified and involved with our family project.
In this way, Agropecuaria Marteña SA has been contributing to the creation of employment and wealth in the district of La Roda, in the province of Albacete, for more than 50 years.
The Dehesa de Santa Marta has about 4,700 hectares of farmland, dotted with typical Mediterranean scrubland, combining irrigated and rainfed areas where cereals and legumes, fodder crops, aromatic plants for industry and poppy, vegetables and woody crops such as almonds and pistachios are grown, making the whole an unbeatable place for the practice of small game hunting in all its forms.
Our way of farming is based on the execution of a soil conservation plan that involves working it by direct seeding, thus promoting its care with minimal intervention in the tillage of crops, also ensuring a thorough control of fertilizers and chemicals as well as saving water resources available to the farm, all this coupled with a constant concern for the integrated management of all natural resources in order to properly develop the second main activity of the farm, which is hunting.
The development of the hunting activity in Santa Marta is a matter especially "pampered" with great affection by the current family management, as it is a hobby that they have practiced since they were children, hunting with their elders in the mountains, boundaries and besanas that today we put at the disposal of our distinguished clients.
